Close-up of 600 km/h high-speed maglev train in China

As the world's fastest land vehicle to date, China's self-developed maglev train is an advanced scientific and technological achievement in the field of rail transport in the world - Global Times reported. China Railway Corporation CRRC said.

China has been using this technology for almost two decades on a very limited scale. Shanghai has a short maglev line that runs from one of the airports into the city.

China does not yet have an intercity or intercity maglev line that can make good use of the higher speeds, but several cities including Shanghai and Chengdu have begun to conduct research.

At 600 km/h, this maglev train system will take 2.5 hours to travel from Beijing to Shanghai (a distance of more than 1,000 km). For comparison, this journey would take 3 hours by plane and 5.5 hours by high-speed rail.

To ensure smooth telecommunications during high-speed sailing, the ship will use a dedicated 5G Wi-fi system, and passengers can wirelessly charge their mobile phones on board. Up to now, China's 600 km/h super-high-speed maglev transport system has completed the integration and test operation of the system will be carried out starting from January 2021.
